I just felt like the narrator/author was looking down on everyone (even when he was self-deprecating about this ... ... to him. I haven't finished listening yet, I am on the 3rd of 8 discs.
After I first heard him I got the audiobook Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim. Then I found an Audiobook box set on Amazon Used, though it wasn't used, just selling for a reduced price.

In children's: the two Harry Potter, and The Polar Express and Goodnight Moon when I was younger. Just finished Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim and absolutely loved it. I've read a few essays from Sedaris' other books, but never a complete collection. I found myself laughing out loud frequently, but was also struck by some of his profound observations, particularly when he discussed ... ... but would only recommend it to a select few people (3 stars).

But why did I think it would be a happy read? There's a bit of wry humor here and there but overall it's a rather melancholy memoir. I Have A Bed Made of Butte ... I recently finished David Sedaris's Dress your Family in Corduroy and Denim on a flight to Los Angeles from the east coast. It was very readable, but not nearly as uproariously, irresistably funny as Me talk Pretty One Day. Nonetheless, the last quarter of the book (filled with stories ... ... forward to reading more of the series as it is translated into English.
I have also recently started David Sedaris's Dress your Family in Corduroy and Denim, and have already laughed several times in the first three essays. It is not yet as unstintingly funny as the sublime Me Talk Prett ... I'm now reading Dress your family in corduroy and denim by David Sedaris. It's collection of short stories from his life - little windows here and there. Some stuff is really funny, some just interesting, and some disturbing. Last week I wrapped up his other book, Me Talk Pretty One Day, ... ... have any relation to each other that I can discern, other than being books.
