About half way through David Sedaris new one, When you are Engulfed in Flames. Hard to beat his earlier works, but still made me laugh out loud in places. ... that she has enormously high standards? Does she not mince words or suffer fools gladly? See her current review of the new David Sedaris book for only one of many examples. ...
sedaris also has great voices and accents, and his work being funny, he does a great job of comedic timing. live at carnegie hall, particularly six to eight black men, had me ROLLING on the floor.
i agree with previous poster about kite runner -- it was important to hear ... Finished Fraud, a humorous essay collection by Rakoff, last week. Enjoyed it a lot, it's very reminiscent of David Sedaris' work.
Couldn't get through the 1st chapter of The Thirteenth Tale, which was very disappointing to me because it sounded like such a promising book. The narrator of ... "I'm slicing this pineapple now, I thought."

Okay, we' ... Holidays on Ice by David Sedaris is a lot of fun. I have nothing original to add, but I wanted to throw my vote in for David Sedaris, especially Me Talk Pretty One Day. My daughter was very curious and kept asking what I was laughing about. Unfortunately, probably not appropriate for a twelve year old. Sarah Vowell is also very funny in a ... ... a classmate while we were reading it together at what was supposed to be a quiet school function.
I also find David Sedaris to be hilarious. Oh, and Augusten Burroughs too. Anyone know of any female authors that are that laugh-aloud funny? Tag trivia answers:
