None. The book would be good for lower elementary students. The book is about what babies do while at a fiesta. One each page the words are rhyming. This would be great for students to read and recognize the rhyming that is occurring. Personally I really was not fond of the book. ( )Vibrant colors great for read aloud, tells about actions of fiesta babies and their contribution to festival. Would be great to ask kids to list some cultural things they do on holidays. 4Q 3P Extremely engaging and unique illustrations accompany a fairly basic rhyming story. The story reads like a long poem, but as it features babies, might not be popular with older toddlers/preschool age. Integration of Spanish words are appropriate, but the characters are not appropriate for the reader's level who can read these advanced words. 3Q 2P Warm, lively illustrations help describe the activities of the fiesta babies as they celebrate on a warm, sunny day. Bits of Spanish are added into the rhyming story which is sweet and simple. The fiesta babies are adorable and represent many different Hispanic peoples. Fiesta Babies is a pithy, fun story about babies who "go out on the town" and participate in various activities, such as eating, singing, and giving hugs. What I love about this book is Cordova's vibrant, colorful illustrations that make every page fun. Also, nearly every page has a new Spanish word to learn; i.e., salsa, coronas, abrazo, and beso. Tafolla has included a Spanish-English glossary in the back of the book. We read this book to our bilingual kindergarten classes and they enjoyed it. no reviews | add a review
