None. Other than pronouncing the names of the dinosaurs, this book is easy to read and kids will enjoy it. Learning about dinosaurs is so interesting and the more you learn about them, the more you want to know. There are so many activities students can do with this book. For example, students can divide into groups and pretend to be paleontologists. They can be given a dinosaur to search for clues about in the classroom. If a group is given the dinosaur, saltasaurus, they could search and examine the room to find the three matching characteristics of that dinosaur. They could find a hidden bowl of fake lettuce, because they eat plants; a grapefruit, because their baby eggs were about that size and some kind of hard lumpy object to mimic their skin. Three objects to match each dinosaurs characteristics could be hidden in the classroom for them to uncover the correct ones that match the dinosaur they are trying to find. After they complete their search they can present to the class, or the other paleontologist's, which dinosaur they discovered and what their discoveries tell them about their dinosaurs characteristics. no reviews | add a review

Personal reaction - I loved the book! Children get excited about learning about dinosaurs.
Extension I - Have color sheets with different kinds of dinosaurs for the students to color.
Extension II - Have the pictures and names of the certain dinosaurs read in the book. Play a matching game with the students.
