Loading... One for the Money / Two for the Dough / Three to Get Deadly (1995)by Janet Evanovich
None. Very convenient having the first three in one book. This is what got me started and hooked on the Plum series. ( )Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series (One for the Money through Notorious Nineteen) are light, fun, quick reads that are laugh-out-loud funny. They could never be mistaken for great literature, but if you just want an escape with a lot of laughs they fill the bill nicely. The Stephanie Plum series was the series that really got me reading. Each book is jam-packed with adventure, love/lust, hysterical mishaps, and fun-loving characters. The love triangle between Plum, Morrelli, and Ranger always keeps you on your toes. Grandma Mazur's antics will have you laughing outloud. Lula comments and opinions will have your jaw dropping, not to mention her way too-tight, wild wardrobe. Expect the unexpected in each adventure with Bounty Hunter "Extraordinaire", Stephanie Plum. The question you will ask yourself each time is, "What car will she be driving in this book?" I am positive you will enjoy this series. These books are difficult to put down, so clear your schedule!! Easy way to get stuck into the Plum novels. Really enjoyed all three novels, although the concentration of them meant I need to force myself to consciously separate the story-lines in my mind. A nice, simple read, with clever use of humour and crime. This review is of the audiobooks from the set 'Three Plums in One,' which, apparently, is abridged from the written books. These are the first three installments in the Stephanie Plum series, about a woman who stumbles into the bounty hunter business and has a series of adventures revolving around her lack of skill or at least naivete in the business, her luck, her tenacity, and the hot cop for whom she has this long-standing thing. Plum is refreshing and amusing in audiobook form. The books are full of entertaining situations involving a succession of destroyed cars, bumbled take-downs, and the Jersey-girl style that oozes from the pages. I adore the fact the heroine owns a hamster. The non-audio versions might be more cliche and annoying, or perhaps other reviews are reacting more to ongoing themes - which I could see becoming old if they continue too much in later books - but these first three installments are good, fairly clean, fun with a lot of charm. no reviews | add a review
