What I really like about the book is that for each poet the following information is provided: biographical, a picture of the poet, facts, summary and explanation of one poem, poetic technique, themes, poetic style, discussions about several poems included within the book, major works by the poet, and related poets.

What I don’t like, the most recent poets included were born in 1941 and 1943. Sadly, no newer poets were included. I wish some were included to capture the interest of the students. In addition, I’m not sure if students will be instantly drawn to the poems. However, if a connection could be made to the popular songs of today, there could be potential interest among students.
