Faculty life is often defined as having three segments - early, mid and late (or senior). Each segment has unique and similar aspects. This book encourages the reader to think of what they do in terms of their career rather than by a segment, or even a semester at a time. Two of the keys to a successful career are reflection and intentionality. Weimer also suggests that student evaluations can provide some useful information about how courses can be designed or managed to improve student learning. This is a great read for all faculty, regardless of the life stage we find ourselves.
