This book has Comical characters that explain the basics of energy, including the many forms energy can take. It also has amazing pop-ups and diagrams. One reason I like this book is because it shows the pros and cons to each energy source.

With brightly-colored pictures and simple (but not too babyish) diagrams and explanations, The Shocking Truth About Energy provides an accessible guide to energy for elementary students. This is a great resource for classroom units or reports on energy and the environment.

This high-voltage introduction to energy combines physical science and environmental science with fun. Comical characters explain the basics, including the many forms energy can take. Readers can learn how energy changes from one from to another so that the Sun's energy can end up in a lunch box and eventually in people's muscles. Easy-to-follow diagrams show different ways energy can be harnessed. For a green look at the topic, the pros and cons of each form of energy are outline, and tips on how to use energy sensibly are included.
