Sex, drugs and fairy magic Downunder. Banshee Mina uses her deadly voice and rock solid body daily as an enforcer for Joey DiLuca. She'd much rather be using it far more creatively with Joey himself, but shapeshifter Joey's feelings seem to run hot and then as cold as his inner serpent. Misunderstandings, violence, hot sex and nightclub glitter - it's all turf wars and demon politics and business as usual on the docks.

Not at all what I was expecting, it's a bloody, fair-dusted psycho-delic trip as Mina searches desperately for her mother's killer - and uncovers a secret far worse than she ever suspected. ( )

One word that comes to mind when I read this series is... gross. Hayes is not afraid to write about bodily fluids, and not just the sexy fluids. The character in the first book of this series pukes many many times. But it's the characters that keep me reading and enjoying this series. The characters are so flawed, make such stupid mistakes, are beautifully twisted, and are just plain fun. Hayes works these characters hard before they get their happily ever after at the end. If you are looking for a darker romance and not afraid of reading about bodily fluids, give this series a try. ( )

She and Joey have always trusted each other to stay alive, but now she's not sure what to believe. The evidence stacked against him--or the one man who haunts her dreams and burns her blood.… (more)
