There are only two general interest books out there on gestational diabetes, and I don't recommend this one. The other, the American Diabetes Association Guide, isn't great either, but it's slightly better and easier to get from a library.
If you have Gestational Diabetes or have been diagnosed with Diabetes II in pregnancy, your diabetes counselor probably thinks of Dr. Jovanovic-Peterson as their new best friend.

Unfortunately, she isn't *your* best friend if you want to enjoy your pregnancy; her treatment protocols include blood glucose testing 8 times a day (fortunately most providers skip at least the 3 am test), very restricted diet, and pushing insulin, as well as condemning you for not being skinny enough. (Jovanovic-Peterson has type I - Juvenile- diabetes.)

However, reading this will make you appreciate a) what the major researcher in the field is saying and b) all the things your medical provider isn't making you do. ( )
