You really get to see them together and apart from the pack. I also really love how Mercy finds out about her heritage. Though it is heartbreaking a bit. I would love to hear the conversation btwn Coyote and Charles. Some things to ponder: Stephen says "you would've come if I called" Mercy thinks he means on the phone and answers accordingly Coyote and Stephen knew each other in the past....or at least fought no reviews | add a review

Car mechanic and shapeshifter Mercy Thompson has never known any others of her kind. Until now. As Mercy comes to terms with this new information, an evil is stirring in the depths of the Columbia River--and if Mercy and her mate, the Alpha werewolf Adam, are to have any hope of surviving, they will need all the resources the shifters can offer. This story was a bit slower to read than the others. I still liked it, but it isn't my favourite Mercy book and that was strange to me because I really liked the part where she learns a bit more about her heritage. I can't put my finger on it why I feel a bit mixed about this book. If I figure it out, I will tell you. For now, it was a nice read, but I hope the next one is better. ( )
