Absolutely. Dog book equals crying. I was weeping at the end of Garth Nix’s Abhorsen, but then there is this really cool dog…

... the first book in my favorites in this genre, but it really developed into a quality series. Isn't Nix grand? The Abhorsen trilogy was truly original and well-done. I enjoy his children's series, Keys to the Kingdom, very much as well. I also didn't like The Supernaturalist as ...

... and Richard L. Dauenhauer. A pdf document I found on the web. Fascinating stuff. Book 120 Lirael and Book 121 Abhorsen by Garth Nix. These two books follow Nix’s wonderful Sabriel and really secure Nix as a master of fantasy and one of my favorite writers.

... other series. (Well, maybe tied with the Tales of the Otori books which are popular among the guys at work) Lirael and Abhorsen are my favorites. The three books are now available in one volume. The Keys to the Kingdom books are good but the middle books dragged a little.

I'm really behind with this, aren't I? 88. Abhorsen by Garth Nix It was a great series and I made it last for as long as I could stand it. I am truly impressed with the whole thing. I have a hard time believing anything else he's written could possibly be as good. 89. The Miscellany of ...

Oops, deleted because of a double-post.

I like them, but with the child part of my personality, while the adult in me appreciates the Abhorsen Trilogy. They are a good quality children's series, like Charley Bone and Artemis Fowl, with a Through the Looking Glass feel to them. I refuse to buy them in hardback so am waiting for ...

>164 koalamom - If you liked the Abhorsen trilogy, I'd definitely recommend picking up Nix's Across the Wall. It's a short story collection, but the first is more of a novella featuring Nicholas Sayre. The rest of the stories are good reads, as well.

Just finished Abhorsen. Can't understand how I hadn't read it until now when the paperback came out in 2003 and I had read and enjoyed the first two parts Sabriel and Lirael. It was a wonderful and compelling conclusion to this trilogy. I also managed another chapter in The Passing of ...

Just bought myself a new trilogy yesterday! The Abhorsen Trilogy by Garth Nix. Just started and am already intrigued!

Started Passing of the Armies and picked up Abhorsen and The Parables of Jesus. This will give at least one title in each of my nine categories of the 999 Challenge. I find I am light on fantasy here at mt house and I have read so much of it over the years - will have to be haunting the ...
