I am a huge Jane Green fan and loved this one (I actually don't think there are any I don't like.) She has a new book coming out in June 2009 (Dune Road), which I can't wait for. I recently had the opportunity to interview Green, which you can see at:

Jane Green has come a long way after Jemima J. The style is not the same.I expected something totally different from what I read on Second Chance. The book was not completely horrible, or I wouldn't have finished, but the story was too flat, too predictable and rushed at the end. ( )

disappointing as I like Jane Greens writing usually. This just didn't keep my attention. Get togethers after Tom's death, kinda like the movie, but the characters didn't click for me. ( )

Not an original story idea and fairly predictable. Surprised this was on the best seller list. It is the first I have read from this author. I might try one more, but for now I think the best thing she has going for her is her graphic artist (her covers have appeal). The author did pull a bunch of interesting characters to populate her plot: Tom (killed in a terrorist attack), Holly (in the midst of marital unrest), Saffron (an alcoholic actress), Paul (a journalist) and Olivia ( a lonely animal shelter owner). Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0670038571, Hardcover)

The New York Times bestselling author delivers another winning novel—this time it’s a tale of friendship and fate

Jane Green has become a nationally bestselling author with legions of fans through her novels about the true-life dilemmas of real women—their relationships, their careers, their loves, their triumphs and disappointments. In her latest book, Green tells the story of a group of people who haven’t seen each other since they were best friends at school. When one of them dies in a terrible tragedy, the reunited friends work through their grief together and find that each of their lives is impacted in ways they could have never foreseen. Warm, witty, and as wise as ever, this is a story of friendship, of family, and of life coming full circle.
