I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed the setting of this book as it’s in my hometown of Minneapolis. I also enjoyed the book because the author has 25 years of experience as an ER doctor and the main character is an ER physician. It made the storyline more credible.
I enjoyed this mystery because it felt like an actual story versus a typical murder mystery story. The murder took place, however the story still moves on without focusing too much on solving the murder. The character show more development was great and the action made it enjoyable. The ending made sense and there were no loose ends.
I am curious to see how Combs will continue to keep the storyline interesting in his next few books. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a new book to read.

Finished book 4 of Tom Comb’s Drake Cody Emergency Medicine series. This is the last book that was written and will await book 5. This series is written by a retired trauma doctor who lives here in the Twin Cities where I’m from.
The series is about an ER doctor named Drake Cody and his struggles at a level one trauma center. Each book has one dramatic thing that happens that Drake has to try and stop and nearly get in trouble for. Most of these books are a little over the top and not show more realistic but it makes it fun when it’s fiction you’re reading.
I liked the first two more than these last two but it’s worth a read. They’re short and quick. They always have happy endings and no cliffhangers. This book was about a terrorist group who took over the hospital. The last book was about an opioid crisis. It’s not for everyone but the medical parts are interesting and educating.

Wrongful Deaths is book 3 of his Drake Cody series about an ER doctor who has financial and family issues along with drama in his medical practice.

I like Combs writing style and the story is easy to follow. The characters are repetitive and events happen quickly. The main characters are likeable and credible.

I had issues getting into this book for some reason. The start wasn’t slow but the middle caused me to lose focus. I think the concept of the book (deals with OD’s) was a little show more over done and that’s why I got bored of it.

I will push through and read book 4. I would recommend the series too, just wouldn’t say this was my favorite so far in the series.

Flying through the books this month. Had a lot of free time on my hands. Finished Hard to Breathe book 2 of Tom Combs’ Drake Cody series. It was a quick and interesting read, I have the next two books in the series in my to read next pile.

The Drake Cody series is about a doctor named Drake Cody who lives in Minneapolis and works as an ER doctor and is doing research on a new drug. In the first book it goes over his past and his struggles that seem to follow him. In this book the past show more catches up to him and finds himself in a spot of trouble.

I like this book because it’s an easy read and interesting storyline. I like that the characters are always unique and that he has a good home and friend life with little drama. I also like that the storyline is continuously moving from book to book and that it’s not a completely new story within each one. Looking forward to the next book. I also like that this one mentioned Maple Grove and Cty. Rd. 30 where I donate plasma twice a week. Always nice to recognize the location in a book.

I don’t really have anything negative to say about this one.

★★★★★ Would recommend, but definitely read the first book: Nerve Damage, first.
