I grabbed this book on a whim and I am so glad I did! It's a little motivational book filled with short inspirational phrases and is filled with amazing accompanying illustrations. A few of the phrases are mash up of familiar quotes but on the whole these are fun and fresh. I can hardly believe that big beefcake Cena wrote them (I shouldn't be surprised he has kids books out as well). I like this book so much that after I return it to the library I'm going to buy my own personal copy. It's show more fun to flip through and perfect to have on the coffee table to use as a conversation starter or as inspiration. The illustrations are whimsical and fun and the book is very motivational. Very pleasantly surprised by this!! show less
This book is fantastic. It sounds like John Cena if I’m beginning to end. It’s a story about always trying your hardest and that it’s OK to be different. I love that one of the monster trucks is electric, which is what makes them different from the others but yeah, there’s still this message of family. This book feels like the author and like someone who spends a lot of time with children. Which if you know anything about John Cena, you know to be true. I don’t know if you wrote show more this because he had a need to write it or if you vote it for all the children and all the hospitals that he’s visited over the decades. But either way, this is a fabulous book by a fabulous man sure to be on Library shelves for years to come. show less
This is one of my son's favorite books for us to read! The illustrations are action-filled, cute, and colorful, and of course, the characters are fun, which keeps kids engaged. It's an okay, fast-paced read for kiddos who especially love monster trucks—a very cute way to get the "never give up," "be a good friend," and "believe in yourself" messages across. But, I think it may take a little explaining and question-digging for kids to understand the storyline.
A TV series starring John Cena (HBO, Jan. - Feb. 2022).
A super villain who thinks he's a hero tries to stop a body snatcher invasion.
B (Good).
I like Gunn's sense of humor enough that I was entertained. But 8 episodes of this at once is A Lot.
