Angels : Who They Are, What They Do, and Why It Matters by Jack Graham is an interesting book on the topic of Angels. I always loved the TV show - Touched By An Angel starring Roma Downey, which showed guardian angels always helping people. Roma Downey writes a beautiful forward to this book as well.
The author uses scripture as well as true life stories to explain Angels and who they are and what their purpose is in this book. Broken up in four parts,
1. The Wisdom of Angels as You Start the show more Journey
2. The Protection of Angels as You Sustain Life's Blows
3. The Encouragement of Angels as You Soar on Eagle's Wings
4. The Presence of Angels as You Stay the Course With Christ
No we shouldn't idolize them, but LEARN from them. As they watch over us, protect us, and teach us to worship God! I loved this book and highly recommend it to others who also would like to learn more about Angels.
I received a FREE copy from Bethany House in exchange for my HONEST review, rather it be bad or good. show less

I have never read a book on Angels quite like this. Very different, not your typical book on "angels". At first I thought it wouldn't mention anything on angels, but how Jack Graham does it, is weaves Biblical stories of people in the Bible who encountered angel activity and explains the whys, and hows, and has discipleship lessons of how to live in obedience to God and experience this activity for yourself, lots of practical applications. An encouraging, awesome read. It tells of the show more different situations characters in the Bible were in and shows how God responds with His Angelic help. It interweaves in the Character of God, and how He loves us and works in peoples lives. This book is based on the Word of God and includes plenty of Scripture references to back up his teaching. It also includes beautiful stories of modern day people who have had supernatural encounters with angels.. I received this book from Bethany House Publishers in exchange for an honest review. show less
It's amazing to me to that there's a lot of people that believe in Heaven and God but doesn't believe or want to believe in Hell or Satan. This book does a good job of explaining and pointing out that there are good and evil forces at play all around us everyday. It really does come down to good versus evil in virtually everything we do everyday. This is setup as a Bible Study for a group and I would enjoy doing so because of the great discussions that would come from it but you can and will show more enjoy just reading it outright outside of a group setting. It's conservative as some reviewers have stated but to me that's not a bad thing at all. show less
This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. This book begins with a bang - very powerfully emotional entry. The author clearly has studied and researched the issues and is full of information. It is a heavier read in that you must THINK and pay attention! It's a useful study tool. Be sure to allow ample time for studying when you read this book.
