Because this darling boardbook is not only charming, but so valuable, I'm going to go ahead and call it 'amazing' to give it the five stars. I bought it on a road trip as a 'souvenir' even though I don't know any babies or anyone of Native descent. When I read it and found that it's bilingual, I was blown away. I'm giving it to my youngest stepdaughter. She helps run a preschool in Reno, and has a three yo daughter; I'm sure they'll make good use of it.
Major points for Native author and for show more Indians in a laughing, loving family (no Noble Savage BS here!). But really, universal appeal. show less

This book I connected to because I have a niece that my family adores to death, yet the only person she wants to be around with is her grandmother. She knows that her grandmother will allow her to do anything she wants. So reading this story and seeing that the grandmother was the only person to get the baby to laugh made me think of my own family.
This is an enduring small book for babies or young children. Being a bilingual book gives it an additional quality. It is a great gift for a new grandmother!
This book is great for young children and their families. The pictures show in clear explanation what the words are expressing.
