Ember-Raine Winters

Oh my giddy gods, I have to say Ember-Raine outdid herself on this 3rd installment.

The smut was scorching hot, the storyline continues to enthrall me with every page and the character development is continuing to surprise me. So many layers.

Yet again Ember leaves us on a cliffhanger and I feel like I'm about to lose my shit at the abrupt end with a massive plot twist taking over. I have goosebumps and I'm also rather emotional for Maddox at the revelation of the outers plans for Erica.

I have stuck by you every novel so far and I'm going to be crushed if things pan out the way Its going.
I guess that's what makes me a huge fan, the story keeps us guessing and despite some authors works, you can't actually predict this story progression. It twists and turns at every angle and I suspect it will only get darker and more delicious.

I am absolutely in love with the series and I have no doubt more great additions will come.

5 stars is the max it will allow me to give, but I think it's worth more than that.

If you love bully romance, dark twisty plots, academia settings with fated mates and warring kingdoms, and of course plenty of sizzling smutty goodness, then you will love this series. show less

This is a very realistic portrayal of the difficulties of living with PTSD, especially as those who do not understand it respond in ways that are harmful, even when they mean well. Kaylee has a hot temper and isn't waiting around for someone to rescue her, but Griffin, in true hero style, does just that. Their chemistry is hot hot hot, both on a physical and emotional level, and their troubled past only escalates both. Griff is tough and protective, and Kaylee struggles with how much she show more should allow him to help her - I think this is a struggle many women, PTSD-challenged or not, face.

This reminded me of [author:Sidney Halston|6916557]'s [book:Pull Me Close|28587609], which is the only other book I've read that handles PTSD realistically, and has a romance with passion and affection as well. I'm definitely looking forward to book two in this series! show less

I absolutely devoured this book! Very intense and sizzly.

It was dark and might be a little uncomfortable for some as it is very forced proximity and blurred lines of consensual/forced intimacy, but I honestly loved the story.

It was a rich world of Fae, an enemy magic academy, an enemies to lovers vibe (feeling that), a development of character strength, and a mystery!

I was so absorbed in the story when *BAM!* Huge plot development, darkness incoming in our broody male main character, show more andddddd, cliffhanger cuts me short, and I'm now sat here (book)edging, wondering what feck is gonna happen next??

This is the 2nd title in the series, and it did not disappoint!

I often find sequels to be subpar, but this delicious tale has only grown more wicked, smutty and twisty, yet there's a taste of a sweet romance brewing, fleeting, but it's under the surface.

This book is a direct follow on with the same character arcs as book one, we get more in depth character developments, more intrigue and more of a deep twisty plot.

I absolutely adored the new touch her and die trope surfacing, along with show more the internal battle each of them face regarding their feelings.

I loved this book, and I love this series.
I am far too excited to wait for the 3rd installment, so I hope it's not too far behind.

If you enjoy dark romance, bully romance, Fae, fantasy, mystery, royal families, smutty smut smut, dark twisty plots, academic settings and all those good things, then you will love a
A Court of Shadow.

Make sure you start with A Court of Discovery, otherwise you will be clueless as to what the hell is happening.

This, is fully worthy of my 5 shiny stars.
I worship you Winters. Keep me in the loop for book 3, I'm going crazy with that abrupt ending.
