Gold Discovery Journal Of Azariah Smith by David L. Bigler

Well done short account of his time in the Mormon Battalion and how it was to be in on the discovery of gold in California in 1848. He missed his mother too much to stay around and get rich! But he survived to an old age and went back for the 50th anniversary of the discovery (most of the others there died early).
