Dr. Richard R. Gaillardetz PhD

Dr. Gaillardetz takes a more "liberal" view toward the Second Vatican Council. Though I do not agree with all of his assessments of the council, or even his interpretation of some of the documents, I do appreciate the skillful way he puts the council in historical context. Indeed, in order to truly understand the council, you have to go back to the end of the first millennium AD to see how the church's understanding of itself gradually changed.
