About the Author
Robert Freeman, a graduate of Harvard and Princeton, is a musicologist, a Steinway artist, and a third-generation professional musician. Having taught at Princeton and MIT, he served as director of Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester for more than two decades. He served afterward show more as president of the New England Conservatory and as dean of the College of Fine Arts at the University of Texas at Austin, where he is Susan Menefee Ragan Regents Professor of Fine Arts. show less
