I honestly don’t know how to even rate this because it’s bubblegum cringe dialogue one second and hot as hell with amazing plot the next. It’s all over the place. I’m not used to a FMC being so…happy? Bubbly? Like she squeaks…but I LIKE her. Plus sized, green witch, fellow red head and even from the start of the book pretty happy with her life. Definitely happy sunshine type which is out of my sphere. Her Gran is probably my favorite character from the book.
This is RH with sword show more crossing (MMFMM) with an interesting take on BDSM and “role fulfillment”. I could definitely live without the daddy kink, that’s not my thing but the guy who has that role is amazing on page. Also the weird fixation on Fish’s hair was off putting to me. His sub role also didn’t do it for me but I enjoyed his darker side. I did appreciate the time the author took to address consent consistently throughout the book. The guys are all mages with different affinities which was actually pretty cool.
For every cringe I had a oooo moment. It’s one of those guilty pleasure reads I’ll end up reading the entire series of because it’s kinda quirky, cute, filthy, magical and demonic. The ending hooked me so I’ll work my way casually through the series.
I know who to recommend this to and it will be lovingly filed under “Trash Reads”. But I’m totally going to finish the series ! show less

Before I get to my review of this book, I wanted to address a comment from another reader.
Actually, I found it to be a rather IGNORANT comment about how it was "impossible for her to be pregnant with twins of two different fathers, and that Bram and Sloane hadn't had sex with her in forever."
First off, you idiot. You can in fact have twins with two different fathers!
It's called, Heteropaternal superfecundation.
It occurs when a second egg is released during the same menstrual cycle.
Also, I show more believe it can happen within days of each other, so before you start making UNEDUCATED assumptions, maybe check your facts first.
I cannot believe how pissed off that reader made me.
I have SEEN this phenomenon. Sure, it's rare... but, it happens.
Kudos to Britt for using a part of real science in her books.
Sigh... deep breath... ok, I am fine now.
I still give three stars for this book... I am happy a certain someone is there. THANK GOD!
I am scared poopless for the next book but, now, I am obsessed and have to finish the series!
Off to book five! Enjoy your day! show less

The series as a whole was enjoyable if not a tad predictable.
I would have given three stars but I wanted to give my honest opinions overall.
There were some freaky grammar errors in this book and totally unbelievable events plus what felt like missing time scenes.
The relationship between father and daughter made no sens and should have had...more.
Character development was a must. They go from not knowing each other and h being scary af to being closest father and daughter.
There were several show more ppl mentioned but zero development.
Hunter should have at least been more involved.
There are tons of spinoffs possible but I doubt I will read them...fern, Alistair, hunter...too much non I made it so, sure I want to know more BUT at the same time..meh.
I could go on and on but what is the point. Also, I am typing this on my cell andy fingers are tired.
Sure, read it if you have a day or two but, it's not memorable. show less

Slight redemption for Britt in this book... Back up to three stars. Trust me, if you know me, three is still good.
Just something is stopping me from making it four....
Also, I bet $100 I know who caught her....
Shall I give a clue?
Who needs a familiar when you have one of these?
