I adored this book. I learned a ton about queer culture and guffawed aloud more than is socially acceptable. Jen Winston is honest and direct, addressing incredibly relevant queer issues in a down-to-earth, ultra-millenial way.
I did not like this, but giving it 1 star feels dramatic, so we'll call it a 1.5 rounded up to 2. Writing style was chatty and internetty without being witty. Very much of and about the "white women complaining about femme invisibility" side of the bisexual ~community that I find so pointless and alienating. I appreciate this is very resonant for many bi people, but it's not at all my bi experience, so, IDK, have fun over there I guess.

I read the intro/first chapter or so, then skipped to show more the last chapter, then read the second to last chapter, then chose one in the middle that looked vaguely interesting, then found myself skimming quickly through the next few, so I'm counting this as read, if in a roundabout way. show less

as a bisexual person this was dissapointing. it was very millenial and cringy at times, made me roll my eyes alot. i guess maybe i would recommend it for someone who is not queer but interested to learn something? but even then this book has a very narrow view of things in my opinion.
