Messy, Spicy, and 100% My Kind of Chaos
Okay, so let’s talk about The Try Line—because I just devoured this book like it was the last piece of cake on earth and I have feelings.
First off, Jason and Mik? Childhood best friends with secret heart eyes for each other? I was instantly hooked. Jason’s out and proud, Mik is your classic “I’m straight but not really” energy, and their connection is chef’s kiss. Like, every glance, every moment—they had that kind of slow burn that show more makes your heart race and your stomach do backflips.
But here’s where things get spicy. Mik starts dating Jason’s sister, Janel, and... whew. That whole situation screamed delusional. Mik didn’t want her, kept trying to break it off, but she just kept boomeranging back. The moment Mik and Jason finally confess their feelings? show less

I really liked this book, I loved how Tyler and Issac found comfort in each other, if you're into hurt/comfort with an sweet and smutty tones this is definitely a good book to read. The reason I only gave it 4 stars is because the end was a little rushed and I feel like a lot of themes and thoughts in the book were repeated. I've really loved Rebecca Rathe's books and I think because I drift more towards dark romances is the reason I didn't like the book as much. Still a great book with a show more HEA!
Synopsis!
This is an emotional MM romance about healing, connection, and finding light in the darkest places. Isaac's life is already complicated when he crosses paths with Tyler, a young man dealing with serious trauma after a violent attack. What starts as a protective gesture turns into something deeper, as both men slowly let their guards down. The story is raw and tender, with heavy topics handled thoughtfully. It’s heartbreaking at times, but also full of hope and quiet strength. Definitely worth reading if you’re into emotional, character-driven romances with real heart. show less

I did enjoy this book. While there is a lot of hot and steamy moments between Jack and Bryant, it was not just about those, but I really felt Bryant's struggle. He had to deal with a lot more personal things when Jack came into his life.
So, Jack and Bryant together felt on a more emotional level then just a physical one. Although Bryant was definitely the one in charge. The way that he had Jack on his knees! While Jack did tone down his cockiness from when he first meets Bryant, he still show more would throw in a comment here and there that would have me chuckling. show less
