Golombek does not cover all openings, but provides good guidance for a subset to suit most players. The chapters are
1. The Ruy Lopez
2. Other King's Pawn Openings
3. The Half-open Defences
4.The Sicilian Defence
5. The Nimzovitch Defence to the Queen's Pawn
6. The Queen's Indian Defence
7. Other Q-side Openings
8. The English Opening
It uses the old notation, P-K4 etc
I think he could have spent a little time for beginners on the basics of all openings. Mobilising pieces, not wasting a tempo, etc.
