Short biography
Your guide is a Gurdjieffian adept who speaks from his essence, ‘no teacher i’. No follower of a mechanical method of awakening, Gustave Ridley is an eighty-year-old master of instant theatre punctuating reality with short verbal blasts that sweep away the frozen postures of a lifetime.

AN EXOTIC PIECE OF NATURE HAS JUST FLOATED ON SHORE YOUR DESERT ISLAND. I feel fortunate to have met and spent some time with the author Gus Ridley. He was quite a colorful character, a brilliant creative mind, a wise old mystic who kept me on the edge of my toes just being there. This little book (138p) is brimming with deep insight just waiting to be explored, pondered, discovered and explored again. Some of my favorite poems include No Teacher I; Down The Drain; I Was Touched; God show more Regurgitates; When Life Is Done; Basic Self Esteem; The Truth of The Self; Courage to Fail; Sound Advice to The Mystical; and many others. Peppered throughout are some very nice oil paintings by the author. I've had this tattered first edition paperback copy for many years now, and I always enjoy and appreciate coming back to its timeless ideas. show less
