He really looks like the King of Ruritania, so, he was asked to pretend the King. That's because the King has become "the prisoner of Zenda". His adventure to rescue the important person began!

When I saw the title, I thought "the prisoner" must be a princess, though, actually it wasn't right. I came to be attracted to this story because of this surprise first. Especially, Rupert who is one of Black Michael's men is just such a character, and I think he makes this story more interesting. show less

Rudlf Rassendyll came from royal stock of Ruritania.Because of some accidents,he pretended to be the Ruritania King.However,the real King was caught by enemies.
I felt uneasy about Rudlf's adventure.I also enjoyed love story between Rudlf and Princess Flavia.I like the scene of exchanging rings.

Rudolf Rassendyll visit Ruritania for the coronation.
He met the new king who closely resembles Rudolf.
In the morning of the coronation,the king can't wake up so Rudolf join the coronation pretending to be the king...

At first I thought this book was difficult but the more I read it,the more excited I was!
The ending isn't happy but I like this ending.
I really recommend this one.

So he looks like the king of Ruritania very much.Then,the king is caught by his brother,because they have a problem of the right to the succession. And Rudolf is involved with this problem, because of his looking...This story is very exciting!I enjoyed it because I couldn't expect what happen next.But there are many people in this story, so I forgot names of show more people in the middle of it. show less
