Learning more about where I live is always rewarding. Being able to picture the place in the world as it exists now and imagine it as is once was is entertaining and illuminating. Spokane has a rich history in hijinks and inglorious people. Some were evil, some were fraudsters, and some were just idiots. I enjoyed discovering more about the city I call home as it helps orient me in time and place.

This was a fun and informative history Coeur d’Alene. I liked the focus on the criminal and scandalous elements of the town’s history. There are some lovely characters, and it was interesting to glimpse the ways of life from years ago.
