Short biography
Ralph Pallen Coleman was an American painter and book and magazine illustrator, born in Philadelphia in 1892. He was educated at the Philadelphia School of Industrial Art - now known as The University of the Arts - studying under master technician Walter H. Everett. He left school before completing his studies, entering the commercial field in 1917. He worked for many decades illustrating stories in magazines and newspapers, before becoming known for his Biblical illustrations in the 1940s. His painting, The Eternal Christ, was reproduced millions of times during World War II, and handed out to servicemen and civilians alike. (source: Wikipedia)
