Best friends Tiger and Tim visit London, England to see some of the famous sights and people, and learn about them. This fun, cheery tale for young children is a wonderful introduction to London and important aspects of England’s culture.

Elements I liked:
I loved how Tiger and Tim both delighted in everything in their surroundings, even things some people might complain about (like the wind). The lovely illustrations really enhanced the story and provided a lot of potential talking and show more learning points. The story has a nice, easy flow and Tiger’s side comments are amusing.

Elements I struggled with:
As a parent and former homeschooler, I would have preferred fewer pages touting the other books in the series and instead a few more pages of the story or additional activity pages related to the story and reading/writing.

Overall:
This is a charming book for little kids. I could see using this for an introductory section on England and its history and culture. The included drawing/coloring pages at the back make nice add-on activities and a couple look like they could also attract the children to other Tiger and Tim books. The idea of writing a postcard is brilliant — fantastic way for kids to practice writing and more reading. A fun and educational book!

A Royal Tiger Tale sees Tim and Tiger travel to London. Tim Hague writes this book and teaches kids about the sights and facts about England. I enjoyed Tiger's wise cracks about Tim's age
