Oh what a wonderful book for fans of early baseball! Photos of players and stadiums, maps, reproductions of newspaper headlines, descriptions of each season in the decade... Just wonderful.
The Ty Cobb scrapbook : an illustrated chronology of significant dates in the 24-year career of the fabled Georgia Peach, over 800 games from 1905 to 1928 by Marc Okkonen
Being a chronology of celebrated games in the great player's life, illustrated by newspaper clippings from the time. I love the idea of this, but it could have been carried out far better. The illustrations are photocopies, and from a time when photocopies looked even less professional than they do today.
Being a quasi-reference book which lists rosters and statistics for the teams of the Federal League. It's well-illustrated and contains a short textual narrative.
