I enjoyed reading this biography of Rumsfeld. I knew some of his background given my age (late 50s) and observed his actions both before, during, and after the Afghanistan and Iraq War. What I didn't know about is his early life and his business life. We should all be as proactive and resolute as this man was. I don't need to defend him against critics as they are all too numerous and predictable. I admire Rumsfeld for not just his good qualities, but also for the dedication he gave in his show more life toward securing needed changes within government and business. Only the Lord God can judge each one of us righteously, and I leave that to the ultimate author of all our lives. show less
Midge Decter loves her some Donald Rumsfeld. Be mindful of this when reading the book. Rumsfeld's an interesting character, maybe because he's so controversial.
To Ed and Linda who knew everything I had to learn-and who stillknow things, about friendship, for instance, that have lighted up my life - Midge
