I must have read this book over 25 years ago when I was in my early teens, for some reason it has always stayed with me. Love this tale of an elderly man and his fight against being dragged into the modern world.
Sky and her brother are abandoned by their parents in the middle of the desert because they can’t afford to keep them anymore. They walk to a nearby city and meet Dig who tells them about “the Catchers” who are on the lookout for homeless children. Dig shows Sky & Chip how to look after themselves by staying in the Rubbish trip, recycling material & getting money= food . But Sky wonders if her parents will ever come back?p.11 -13 to “no answer to that.”[Sky & Chip discuss the show more Catchers.] show less
