Saturn returns are significant personal astrological events. You can't hide from them and they are always a rite of passage. Bought this book years ago, and I'd just stuck it on the bookshelf. Obvious I had been through my first return and hadn't yet gotten to my second. Now that Saturn is conjuncting my sun and about to make it's second return I have a renewed appreciation for the quality of the material Sullivan presents. It definitely earns its place on the bookshelf
Family dynamics as reflected in natal charts have fascinated me for decades; this is the first book I have found that discusses this theme in detail. It is best read with access to, perhaps, your own family charts (that's how I did it) and an online place like astro.com that gives you the option to run synastry patterns or other things as you read. It does assume a bit more than basic astro knowledge, but wouldn't be too daunting to a clever astrological novice. At least I don't think so.
