This is a nice overview of the labyrinth in history, speculations on it's purpose and use, and current labyrinths in use today. Its a good place to start before going deeper into the study of labyrinths, and the photos are nice.

I bought this hoping for a history of labyrinth patterns in Europe; alas, it's not one. At least the pictures are pretty.
