Murray Edelman

A peculiar book about public opinion, political rhetoric, problems, solutions, news and views. The author makes quite a few bold claims as he more or less denies the possibility of truth and reason in politics. Much of his analysis seems plausible on an intuitive level but the argumentation is a bit too light to be accepted directly. There's no broader argument in this book, just a general skeptical attitude toward political knowledge and action. It's a short and quick read, original and show more occasionally insightful but I would have hoped for a little bit more depth. show less
