I found this book a real hoot,as well as as one filled with somewhat arcane information about Britain and the British. The 'author' who hides his name quite understandably behind the fake one of Taffy St George McScot has chosen his pieces well.
In the introduction he says " At heart,The British are deeply insecure,and with good reason,too.Their country fell off the edge of mainland Europe during the last Ice Age and lost out on the best bits.This they have cleverly turned to their show more advantage,however,making incomparable virtues of smallness,mildness,and pleasantness" Hear hear!
The illustrations admirably compliment the text. show less

This book is a catalog of hundreds of interesting facts about the body with language suitable for 3 graders and older. The central issues this book addresses are the human body and biology. This book could be used in a classroom for a curious beginning reader in 3 grade or as a reference for older children doing science projects on the human body. If a teacher noticed a student was particularly interested in the happenings of the body, this would be a great book to recommend for independent show more reading. show less
