The Purge and Southern Comfort merge in this bizarre and intense thriller. I love the unusual spin. It’s hard to walk away from. It lingered in my mind each time I had to put it down to rejoin the real world.
What’s worse—being the hunter or the hunted? Incredible twists make this one highly recommended!
The author uses an app to pit friends against each other and turn their worlds upside-down by arousing their greed. When you receive a link from a friend, you assume it’s safe, right? show more This story makes ordinary spam emails look appealing!
Each week a random person is selected and a large bounty is put on their head. Everyone that has downloaded The App is expected to join in the hunt to keep their family members safe.
When Marty receives a link from his best friend—Davey—he’s intrigued. One-click and the next target is announced. Life is changed forever! What kind of a monster created this terrifying game?
The ribbing between Marty and Ethel, his mother-in-law, is wickedly amusing.

"Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty had a great big fall, the egghead splattered all over the floor, but when I came down, he was gone from the door."
Wow! I dare you to read this book by yourself after dark. It will give you nightmares! I mean look at the fantastically creepy cover.
Dr. Simon Bairstow’s life is ruined by a parent of a young woman whose kidney removal went horribly wrong. The parent would not let up on the doctor who was acquitted of any wrongdoing. Bairstow loses his mind show more and begins a killing spree that includes several random people who cross his path.
The story is fast-paced and bone-chilling. The suspense scenes are incredibly horrifying and the idea of having someone stalk you and throw you in a house with a disfigured mad man is everyone’s worst nightmare.
"Jess spun around. An old man stood in the doorway, a crowbar in his left hand. He looked disfigured. He was well over six foot, nearer seven, with a massive frame. Jess glared at him. That face. Oh my God, that face."
The plot is divided between the past and the present that leads the reader to the final culmination of how these characters are connected in a crazy plot twist. Triggers are violence and foul language.
If you are an extreme horror fan, this book is for you. Highly recommend!

Holy cow! In true Stuart James fashion, this frightening story follows a family who takes a wrong turn that leaves them fighting for their lives.
With this being my third Stuart James novel, my advice is that you must prepare yourself. Don’t be alone while reading it. The lights should be on. Have a drink handy. Now, take a deep breath and immerse yourself in a terrifying scenario sure to keep you awake for a time.
Ben, Laura, and Milly are an extremely brave family who find themselves show more risking their lives for complete strangers. As for the strangers… let’s say they have some serious transgressions they are dealing with. Not to mention, they all happen to be connected in a very ill-fated way. Last, but not least, we have the evil and unforgiving antagonist who is bent on revenge by playing a very dangerous and diabolical game. Put them all together and you get an incredibly chilling and mind-blowing sequence of events that will leave you racing to the obscenely shocking end.
Stuart James has created another astounding work of horror with powerful dialogue and eerie surroundings that will keep you on the edge of your seat. A superb read to celebrate your Halloween this strange year. Recommend highly!

Loosely based on the Jimmy Sangster screenplay of the Joseph E. Levine distributed 1959 film of the same name, Jack the Ripper is Stuart James attempt to turn a pretty standard and somewhat gimmicky (some theaters showed the bloody climax of the black-and-white film in vivid color) exploitation horror film into a decent novel. Using the original screenplay as more of an outline, Stuart James injects considerably more character, plot, and even blood - the source film doesn't even feature any show more dead prostitutes - into this re-imagining of the Jack the Ripper legend. Like most books/films based on this subject matter, the main focus is on explaining who the legendary mystery murderer really was, and the explanation offered here isn't the most compelling or outlandish you're likely to find, although the answer to what happened to him is probably the most unique aspect of the book. What sets this apart from all of the other Jack the Ripper books out there is Stuart James' natural abilities at storytelling and creating an atmosphere that practically drips with blood and fog. If you've already read ten or twenty different "accounts" of Jack the Ripper, and odds are you have, then adding this one to your list of conquered titles won't do any harm, especially since this edition also includes an Afterword detailing the film origins of the novel. show less
