This was a great book. From the start, it was already brimming with action and controversies. This book was not easy to put down. I love the world created by Steve Thomas. I also love the characters such as Jeshu, Vunrata, Krinpet and Gandahar. I especially love the ending. It was an unexpected and bittersweet ending. This is a must read book for fantasy lovers.

Loved this book. I believe it qualifies as a novella as it's about it's in the mid-80's page-wise.
For anyone who enjoys the Gotrek & Felix books, this seemed like a 'lighter hearted' Gotrek on an acid trip. Despite that description, I think the piece was well written and highly amusing. I read it straight through and was happy with the witticisms and word play, not to mention an axe as a character (read the book and show more you'll know what I'm talking about) that seems at first to be a schizophrenic bi-polar personality.
The book is somewhat like 4 inter linked long stories that lead into each other and relies on occurences in each other.
In my opinion it's safe to say that if you like violence, wit, mayhem and a touch of madness, that Klondaeg The Monster Hunter should deliver all of those and more to you.
The narrative and character dialogue ran smoothly and I'm glad to note that I don't recall any typos or glaring grammar issues, etc (my pet peeves).
Hope to see the further insane adventures of Klondaeg in the future. show less

Rather great read! In the interest of being fair, me as a reader tried to go into this book open-minded. It was tough since the themes of necomancy and the undead seem a bit far fetched, but as Thomas' writing progressed, and the characters became more developed, the scenes didn't seem so farfetched. I really, seriously, recommend this book.

A solid fantasy novel - great characters, a captivating plot, and lots of action! Though it was sometimes a bit more gruesome than I would've liked, I couldn't stop reading because I wanted to know how it would end. I hadn't read the first book in the series, but that wasn't a problem - now, however, I want to read the first one!
