I can relate to Maria Ross's story, just four years ago I had a traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) myself. It is amazing how fast she has recovered and it gives me something to look forward to. I struggle everyday with many of the same issues that Maria has/had. The story was very different from mine but similar in many ways. The only thing that I really didn't like about her story was her constant reminder that she did this and overcame that, that is not always good for people who have a TBI's to show more overcome. show less

This book is extremely inspiring, and I loved reading about the the aneurysm, her life before, and her life after the event. The one thing I did not particularly care for was when the writer would go into great detail about things that are irrelevant to the plot. When introducing a character she talks about where they are from, how she met them, stories about things they did before she moved away from them, how often she gets to talk to/see them.. etc.. She also does something similar with show more medical terminology. I found some of these aspects very boring and did not really play into the story line later on. But other than that, I found the storyline very interesting. show less

The book is an account of a remarkable recovery from a devastating brain injury. The very fact that she can author a book is a miracle in itself. I found portions of the book a bit repetitious, but overall I enjoyed reading it.

The author does a nice job of chronicling her recovery after a brain aneurysm. She has a great and supportive husband, especially when they haven't been married very long.
