The public servant's guide to government in Canada by Alex Marland

My spouse thought this was an “old” book, given its appearance. He was surprised to learn it was published in 2019. Either this library copy has been through the wringer in the six years since its publication, or the book looks kind of dated in general.

I know a fair bit about the Government of Canada and the civil service, so this book did not tell me much new (and I had to roll my eyes at some of the career advice, which felt very basic), but for someone who knows absolutely nothing show more about the Canadian federal public service, it is certainly short and accessible. There is a second edition, which I have requested to see how it compares. show less
