Second read, and loved it just as much as the first!

Where is the sequel?? I want more!

Beautiful world building, slow reveal of the complex and tragically gorgeous layers of the story. Would love to see more romance and not fade-to-black action, but the love between Ingram and Mallory, and between Ingram and his siblings, was perfect and touched my heart. It also made me so happy to see Ingram become brave and stand up for what was right.

I highly recommend this read and really need the show more sequel(s?)! show less
Loved the story, loved the dragons, but the characters didn't often make sense. Still, wouldn't mind the next installment.
4 stars. A little slow to start with, but I was caught up in Basil and his mysteries and relationships. The romance was intriguing, but it wasn't the main focus. (am I the only one who wanted him to get with the reaper instead?) Could of easily been a 5 star read with just a little more emphasis on the romantic aspect and wrapping up some of the plot threads. Actually hoping the author writes another book, because the ending was very up in the air.
I was not expecting to find a gem among the many crappy m/m fictions in the net nowadays. So, it was a surprise for me to come across this wonderfully told story about two unlikely male leads, due to one situation after another, came together and bonded, despite the hardship that was falling unto them.

I could not help to compare this to wonderful Captive Prince Vol 1 and 2 by S.U. Pacat and a bit of A Strong and Sudden Thaw by R.W. Day. Those books were marvelous. To even compare this book show more with those three showed the respect I had for the story-telling ability of Isabella.

However, I was disappointed with the last few plots. I felt the plots were rushed through. This was not just a simple fiction with a straight-forward story line. The twist and turn were good but unfortunately not covered well. I seriously wondering if there should be an extended version of this book.
