The photos were vibrant and beautiful and the only reason I gave the book 2 stars. I was very disappointed in how dry and uninteresting Michael Palin's accounts of his visits to Brazil were. I made it about 1/2 way through and had to put the book down, which is very unusual for me. I was hoping Palin's writing would be more humorous, but it was very difficult to get into the reading. The book would be perfect as a coffee table book, however.

Amazing photographs of China but the scale and design of the presentation distanced me.

coincidently i am reading this between watching the tv show. the book was just not as good as the tv show..

Excellent combination of writing and photographs.
