This book is designed to help students taking the Graduate Record Exam (GRE).

It talks about ways to increase retention of vocabulary words. Create a mental picture of the word. Movement and action make things easier to recall. The funnier, and more absurd, the image is, the easier it is to recall. Distort the size and shape of objects in your mental image.

Each vocabulary word in this book has a pronunciation guide, and the type of word it is (verb, adverb, adjective). Next come a pair of show more sentences using the word, plus appropriate synonyms and antonyms. Last, but not least, is a humorous cartoon showing the word in use. There are review exercises, with answers, in the back of the book.

This book does an excellent job of making the study of vocabulary as painless as possible. It is recommended for anyone having problems with vocabulary. show less
