The impression one might get is that, on the whole, English politics is much cleaner than American politics, and while to a certain extent that might be true, this volume, which covers scandals from the late Victorian period through the reign of George V, shows that Westminster was by no means free from scandal, and in some cases, such as the "Marconi" and "sale of honours" scandals that dogged David Lloyd George, some very serious and potentially career-ending scandals, at that. Well worth show more considering when reading histories of the period. show less
