I enjoyed this book for its simplicity. It had a quaint plot-line with a lovable main character: a small frog who dreams of seeing the ocean. This story followed the little frog as he made his way from his small pond home to the big vast ocean and back again. I liked that this book inspires a sense of wanderlust and adventure but also emphasizes the comforts and benefits of staying home. The illustrations were beautifully done and had a very simple ascetic. I felt that the language was age show more appropriate and the writing satisfactory. show less
Beautifully illustrated this sweet story of a frog who just wants to see what others see will resonate with children who like to explore.
I adore Guy Billout as an illustrator, but it doesn't translate well to children's book art. Perhaps he needs a better writer.
Imaginative disasters at a city bus stop #24.
