Authors sees and traces the development of the seeds of the women's movement of the 1960s and 70s in the 1950s. Denied traditional routes to power, women found alternative paths to success. Was this a deliberate choice or was it an extension of what women had been doing since the progressive movement of the late 19th and early 20th centuries? Kaledin provides an interesting new perspective on the 1950s.
This is not an area in which I have huge interest, but thought I should know more. By looking at the Daily Life aspect, it made it more interesting.
