Rush Week: A Scandalous Novel of Sorority Sisters, Dark Secrets, and Unforgettable Drama Inspired by the #BamaRushTok Phenomenon―Perfect for Summer Reading by Michelle Brandon
Four freshman meet at the beginning of Rush Week at The University of Alabama. They become fast friends, pledge the same sorority, and experience college life together, but hold some secrets very close. Five years after graduation, they are brought together again for Rush Week and to open a time capsule that wasn’t suppose to be opened in this lifetime. Someone knows all the dirty little secrets and is ready to spill them. Those secrets could end up being very costly.
Ripped from social show more media accounts and documentaries about sorority life, this book was full of entitled girls being mean, not to mention hiding some very juicy secrets in a “Spill Book”. It reminds me of nighttime soap opera. Campy, spicy, over the top. Dual time that I found at times hard to follow. The ending wasn’t as fulfilling as I had hoped.
Thanks to NetGalley and Avon Books for this ARC. This is my honest opinion. show less

Brooklyn, Asana, Taylor, and Annabelle were in THE sorority at Alabama and this book tells their story from "then" and "now" perspectives. Now is about 5 years after graduation, but they had lost touch with each other for many reasons. Never having joined a sorority, this story seems to be everything I thought about this group of sorority women. So much drama. So much about physical appearances. The mystery that surrounds the four women was interesting but I kept thinking that they were show more getting some karma for making everyone write in the 'spill book' during their tea parties.
The dynamics about and between the women were a curiosity for me. Each had their own niche during college and it seemed that it continued into young adulthood. I did want to keep reading to find out how it all played out and the resolution of the mystery would make the book a good beach read.

I devoured this book. I actually made myself late because I didn't want to stop reading. I love the secrets, the friendships, the gossip, the bitchiness and all of it.
Thank you to the author for this book. She also writes under the name Eliza Knight. This is her first novel under this name. Her next book under this name Tradwife looks even better than this one.
It's rush week at University of Alabama and alumni are invited. Annabelle, Taylor, Brooklyn and Asana will be there. However, let's delve into their time there before it happens. It goes back and forth from 5 years ago up to the reunion. They start getting anonymous blackmail texts/phone calls show more before the reunion so now they really want to go.
Secrets galore will be coming out along with the time capsule the school is revealing. There is a "spill book" these 4 friends put their secrets that they didn't want to come out. They started "tea" parties and called it "spilling the tea" which was another name for the spill book.
As much as I liked this book, it needed to be 100 pages shorter in my opinion. show less
