This may not be the best textbook for learning all about cataloging as it is pretty text-light, but it helps you understand the basics. More importantly, it gives you plenty of opportunities for practice, which seems to be the best way to really learn cataloging. It is also has some helpful resources, such as a handy MARC reference and a glossary.
