The movie follows Easy and his wing of Tuskegee Airmen as they prove themselves over the skies of Europe. Lighting is the reckless pilot with a thing for the ladies, until he finds his lady. The other pilots all have their quirks that make them great at what they do.
I enjoy the movie.
I enjoy the movie.
George Lucas of Lucasfilm wanted to make a about the Tuskegee airmen in action since 1988, and invested in this movie but could not get major studios interested in releasing a story about Black aviators in WWII The movie was released in 2012. In the interval, the script was rewritten. The movie team consulted the historical Tuskegee airmen. The Wikipedia entry (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Tails) assesses the movie an entertainment fairly. The movie uses several Hollywood tropes that show more make it resemble a WWII movie made in the 1950s or 60s when audiences were moreinterested in movies about the war. It touches on the Italian campaign and the American part of the aerial bombing of Germany. It has aerial combat, tension between branches of the air force over the and the proper use of pilots and the American fighers, the P-40 and the P-51. It has (special effects) scenes of aerial combat between P-51s and German jet Me-262s. show less
